Christian Jones-Hickey, Eoin’s grandson, having lived and studied in Vienna, published a book in 2026 titled The Wunder of Vienna & the Irish Connection.
The Wunder of Vienna uncovers the tapestry of historical threads linking the two distant lands, Ireland and Austria – from the revolutionary fervour of the early 20th century to the ‘Wild Geese’ Irish soldiers who rose through Habsburg ranks, to the literary echoes of James Joyce in Trieste.
