  1. I was best man For Tracy Malet-Warden near Cambridge in 1965. We lost contact but would love to get in touch again.

  2. Sergeant/Pilot John Hamish Malet-Warden was killed in action on 17 August 1941 and is named on the Pennycuick family grave in Challoch (All Saints) Churchyard near Newton Stewart in Dumfries and Galloway but not on any local War Memorials. However sometimes after 2007 his name was added to the Sorbie Parish War Memorial in Garlieston, Wigtownshire. Do you know why and by whom?

    1. Good day.
I have done a lot of search after the Armstrong Whitworth Whitley, taht crashed August 17, 1941 at Buggenum, the Netherlands. John Hamish Malet-Warden was one of the 5 crewmembers.
My father witnessed the crash and in 1969 we found some remains from the aircraft. After a long search, I’ve found relatives of Arthur Brown, another crewmeber from the Z6754. I’ve given them the remains of the aircraft and they were in the Netherlands last year to participate in Commemorations of the Liberation of the southern part of the Netherlands. I couldn’t find information about the other crewmembers, but now I found by coincidence this site. Is there a possibility to contact relatives (if they’re interested) from John Hamish, to tell them the story from the crash and further and the search for relatives?

      1. Dear Leon, I read your very interesting comment on Hamish’s plane crash. Hamish was my uncle and my son and I went out to visit his grave last year and we have some tulips planted at home in his memory. Best regards, Eoin.
